18·2 days agoYes, if the real Syrian Arab Army still guarded Aleppo, none of this would have happened today.
The last “SDF” fighters withdrew from the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood. The “HTS” regime now totally controls Aleppo. The “HTS” regime’s troops ‘celebrated’ with genocidal violence against the remaining Kurdish civilian population: brutal killings of unarmed civilians and crude sectarian/ethnic slander. Note, the “HTS” regime is still carrying out similar violence against Druze and Alawi civilians, elsewhere in Syria.

Keep these atrocities in mind when Western mass media propagandists try dressing Jolani up as a human rights champion and democracy promoter.
A Russian S-300 air defense system recently shot down a US-built F-16 fighter plane:
In an interview aired on Russia-1 on Sunday, the commander, identified by the callsign Sever (North), told journalist Vladimir Solovyov that the American-supplied aircraft was “the most interesting target” his unit had encountered. He said the battery fired two missiles at the F-16, with the first “damaging” the aircraft and the second “deliver[ing] the final blow.”
By comparison, Soviet losses were far less than US losses in Vietnam. Afghanistan was also quite stable after the Soviet military withdrew. The counter-revolutionary forces only seized power in 1992, after the traitor Yeltsin cut off aid to Kabul.

Note, Hillary’s propaganda statement about Afghanistan playing a role in the destruction of the USSR is BS. The USSR in 1991 actually had far less debt than the USA does today (in terms of a percentage of its GDP). The Afghan intervention had no significant impact on that debt, either.
Today’s Aleppo update. The “HTS” regime says it captured all of Ashrafiya and 90% of Sheikh Maqsoud. The “SDF” says its fighters are still resisting in the area of the Khaled Fajr Hospital. Both sides are reportedly conducting drone strikes.

SouthFront has a report on the ongoing fighting in Aleppo’s two neighborhoods, Ashrafiya and Sheikh Maqsoud. Apparently, the “HTS” regime declared a ceasefire, but it only last for six hours. The “SDF” refused to surrender. The reported death toll currently stands at 50 (including 21 civilians and 24 “HTS” regime troops).

Tucker Carlson shared his thoughts regarding the current state of NATO:

The Aleppo fighting is still ongoing and, in fact, increasing in its intensity:
Heavy attacks from Damascus’s forces have resulted in the displacement of thousands of civilians from the predominantly Kurdish neighborhoods of Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoud over the past few days. At least 12 people have been killed so far, including two civilians on Thursday morning.
“More than 300 houses have been completely destroyed or partially destroyed. All types of weapons have been used in this war, including bombs and tanks. The intense fighting is ongoing in both neighborhoods,” Nouri Sheikho, the co-chair of the council administering Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh, told Rudaw.

No confirmation yet, but it does say ‘DETAILS TO FOLLOW’, so it’s worth checking the link again.
I would not totally count out the “SDF” quite yet. Washington – especially with the current White House group – loves to flip flop around and are not very predictable. It’s always possible that Jolani may “make a bad move” and then Washington would switch to backing the “SDF” over the “HTS” regime. In that scenario, Syria would disintegrate into several states (i.e. one “SDF” controlled, another Salafist controlled, and probably Druze and coastal Syrian states too).

I want to say, we have reasons to feel very positive about Venezuela right now. First of all, Venezuelan security forces definitely prevented any US imperialist proxy force from seizing power over the weekend. And we also know that at least one other country, Cuba, actually deployed some troops to protect Venezuela. I’ve also read rumors of Russian special forces being there too, but no official confirmation. In any case, the Venezuelan people are not alone on the ground and have rallied in defense of their government and revolution.
MoA posted their analysis of the Venezuela situation:
Nothing changed. Venezuela continues to be governed by Chavistas who adhere to the Bolivarian revolution. It continues to be pressured to let U.S. companies explore its oil. The Chavistas, including Maduro, are willing to allow that but they have certain conditions. Those have not, and I believe will not, change.
I expect that after this weekend’s action nothing will change. The U.S. does not want to govern Venezuela. It doesn’t want to put boots on the ground. The blockade, an act of war, will continue for a while but at some point the ships will have to go back to their harbors. As there is nothing to win from this the Trump administration will move towards its next target.
