Char’s Counterattack was about Char being fed up with an unlearning humanity. He had experienced first hand being a newtype, the way you can communicate directly with someone and commune in such a deeper more profound way. And to end suffering after such a gruesome war, he decides to get rid of the humans still on earth who do not have the ability or desire to evolve into NewType. The central conflict is a philosophical look at having faith (Amuro) and losing faith and turning to drastic measures to accelerate humanity. (Char).

I feel like I understand where Char is coming from, honestly. What I want to see is Amuro in old age or as some sort of cyborg forced to be kept alive 200 years into the future and he sees that Char was right. Everyone is still killing eachother, humanity never learns it lesson, newtype isnt ubiquitous.
