Bluesky comments

Everybody should watch this and see this woman, who has a baby in her arms and is thrust into basically a standoff, develop courage in real time.

The transition from entirely reasonable “I’m Afraid and Don’t Know What to Do, I Just Wanted to Get Some Food I Don’t Need This Right Now” to “I Will Kill All of You for the Ancestors If Necessary” in about a 10 min span should tell these goons how this is gonna go for them if they had half a brain.

Perfect example of why community is so important. When neighbors showed up, she was no longer alone. Gave her the willpower to tell them to fuck off.

Exactly. Even online communities. Some the courage she mustered seems to come from know there were 11k people watching on TikTok.

Disturbing and comforting at the same time.

This is the second door dash delivery in progress that I’ve seen this happen with and it leads me to believe ICE must have inside-information on current deliveries in progress. There’s only like a 20 minute window between an order being made and a delivery, they must have that information in real time.

think the delivery and gig apps are working with the feds and effectively giving them a map of, possibly, undocumented workers?

Didn’t consider the possibility till now, but I’d be surprised if not

[Edit It seems many of my assumptions in this comment are wrong. See Crucible’s comment.]

think the delivery and gig apps are working with the feds and effectively giving them a map of, possibly, undocumented workers?

I am not a lawyer but I think it would be highly legally problematic if the apps only gave some names. Instead - it seems more than likely the apps are giving the feds all the names and then if/when this is discovered - the apps have deniability. The apps can vaguely say something like “Hey, Americans! We obey the law. Don’t get made at us! Immigration enforcement in conjunction with law enforcement asked us for information to catch foreign criminals.” And when asked about citizens who work for them - they’ll say “Oh, that’s complicated! Talk to legal!”

Meanwhile when the media asks the feds about the legality and constitutionality of the grabbing all that up-to-the-minute data - the feds can simply say “Fuck off. Heil Trump.”
