Apparently it’s “virtue signaling” and “language policing” to not want to use language that actively oppresses people. Very cool.
We are so far away from any meaningful change it hurts.

My favorite:
Oh, I mistook people being anti-ICE for being anti-fascist… turns out they’re only anti-ICE
I guess being anti-ICE and being a Good Person are mutually exclusive of one another. My bad, y’all.

Don’t some people use “virgin” to insult misogynists?
Yes, and as other commenters have mentioned, its not a good thing to do.
Yes but they are mistaken to do so. Being a misogynist is bad and deserves insulting, but being a virgin is not. Using virgin as an insult is only going to friendly fire and make a virgin comrade feel shame
expanding a bit on “virgin” as a prejorative: the idea behind using it is an example of turning “a bullies words against them”. its an easy way to upset the bully, sure. but consider: to use their insults is to in many ways agree with them.
calling a misogynist a “virgin” might sting em if they’re young, but it also affirms to them (and anyone who hears) that sex is a form of male power.
