It has a reply now, which starts:

Everyone with a third-grade education knows this. It’s a meaningless factoid. What YOU don’t know is that the party (which was founded before Hitler entered politics) had stopped being leftist decades before he rose to power, and was a far-right organization by the time he took over.

The conversation is a fucking cognito hazard.

(To the two people who will ever read this comment, the Nazi Party was founded as the German Workers’ Party in 1918, was already extremely antisemitic, nationalist, etc. and then Hitler joined in 1919 and it was renamed to the NSDAP in 1920, with the program at that time being pretty similar to what Hitler would put in Mein Kampf in 1925.)

I love how literally every single time the full name of the nazi party comes up it’s presented as such a hot tip, a secret you couldn’t have possibly known.

On a more positive note, the article shares this incredibly based quote from a former Bethesda PR-head:

During an interview with Vice News which centered on this outrage, Bethesda’s then-director of PR, Pete Hines, told the outlet, “Unless you’re a Nazi, there should be nobody who’s opposed to the idea of being against Nazis.” When told that the game’s aggressive marketing tone might be poking the hornet’s nest, Hines even doubled down, saying, “Maybe a little bit, but the hornet’s nest is full of Nazis so…fuck those guys. I’ll poke a Nazi hornet’s nest.”

I hope the company still has people like this working in it.

look the nazis had to invade other countries because they were spending too much on the citizens! That’s what killed the economy not it being entirely based on building up a war machine and nothing else

I don’t ever remember the liberals enjoying that stuff.

Not glazing libs by a long shot, but who does this fellow think was president during WWII?

I was reading that comment section today at work since it is one of the sites I am comfortable browsing in downtime on my work computer.

That was not even worst one. My favorite is the guy complaining about there not being games where you can kill communists (there are) and then realizing that made him sound like the Nazi he is and then throwing in "or how about a game where we can kill both nazis and communists (of which there are also plenty).

  • I thought that the one very small upside of MAGA and Groypers being more openly pro-Nazi is that I don’t have to hear the “Nazis were actually socialists, it is in the name, National Socialists” arguments anymore. But I guess I have just had less accidental encounters with right-wing dipshits recently.

I think this is the actual nexus to use as a fulcrum to agitate around. You can even use the ACB/Infra/MAGACommunist bullshit to demonstrate how it is happening again just dumber

Self described socialists whom Lenin would have shot are actually useful to us if done right. They are obvious examples of straight up Nazis trying to co-opt socialist language. It is almost a 1:1 comparison.
