People are finally starting to understand what HAS to be done to these deranged freaks to get rid of them
There is no civil method of getting rid of the right, there is no decent, or wholesome method of getting rid of the right, riding the high horse will get you absolutely fucking nowhere, the only true, effective way of purging the right is by bringing the hammer down on them HARD and VIOLENTLY, making sure they NEVER. Agreed that this commentary (which I haven’t heard, but the sentiment is more common) is entirely useless. But there is a real fear that the big burly dudes doing the most radical thing are feds (burning a flag isn’t radical, but is more radical than chanting or marching). It’s good to discuss this in a way much more understandable and useful though. I doubt Hasan (idk about the other person) means that leftists shouldn’t burn a flag at a protest, but that you should be weary if someone else does who shows other signs of being a fed.
Now I think this is wrong, too, but not simply because we don’t know if the person is a fed or not (and I doubt this one was tbh, but that’s irrelevant). I think that, regardless of the identity of the person, a movement should do the actions set out to do and allow those to be done by whoever is around. If a fed burns a flag, let it incite others to do it too, it’s fine and good. If the major or says that flag burning is undesired, I find it weak, but it totally changes that. If a fed starts beating up passersby who have no relation to the protest, they should be stopped and called out. This is an argument of discipline instead of intent
here’s a bit but its kind of a multi-thread thing where she spends way too much time insisting and then claiming there’s definitive proof that the dude was a cop because only a cop would burn a single tiny flag off in the corner.
This is also quite different from libs at the George Floyd protests, because there’s been a lifetime of copaganda, many libs probably genuinely believed they could work things out with cops, or haven’t internalized ACAB. ICE? They don’t have that propaganda. Even the most milquetoast lib hates ICE.
And furthermore as they see regular police by and large standing by and letting it happen or even collaborating with ICE we have a perfect fulcrum to agitate on and draw connections to class collaborationism and then you’re at the point where you could probably just hand them State and Revolution and let them make the rest of the connections there.
It’s like they are concocting the perfect material conditions to demonstrate the validity of Marxist-Leninism and delivering them unto us (for better and worse).
A lot of people online are still praying for the cops to arrest ICE, but at least speakers at the Renee Good vigil took a moment to say “fuck the MPD” for standing around and doing nothing this entire time, as well as escorting them into the city in the first place
YES. Some will argue they need optics or can escalate more but the thing is they will escalate anyway. Think of it like Venezuela recently. Venezuela behaves like people say protestors should. They didn’t lash out, attack, or make any super provocative statement against the US. How did the US respond? By bombing the country and kidnapping Maduro.
Play their optics game and you give them what they want anyway: more time to build up and prepare for whatever action you might take. You of course need to be more organized instead of mindlessly lashing out but organized resistance makes a huge difference.
