    I can’t think of one positive assertion that necessarily emerges from the lack of belief in a god or gods.

    Just to be clear I’m not framing belief as a negative thing nor as something the requires replacement

      Yes, you’re right, no specific thing necessarily emerges from the lack of belief in a god or gods. That part is up in the air and up for history to decide. But when a westerner on an English speaking forum is saying that Iran ought to abandon religion, there are some positive assertions that are received, even if they aren’t intentionally implied by the author, by someone outside of that context.
