This is mostly recency bias, but I really liked the series This Machine Kills did with Aaron Benanov on his papers “Beyond Capitalism” published in NLR. I think the first episode was in 2025 and the two in the series ware really thought provoking and I am still going through Aaron’s papers, since the “Beyond Capitalism” papers are over 100 pages combined. But it is really an interesting take on how the Socialist Calculation Debate really missed the real point and him trying to put forward potential ideas of how society would “plan” and allocate resources after capitalism. Accepting that even though Marx was not willing to write recipes for the cooks of the future, that doesn’t mean other people couldn’t speculate on what those recipes could be.
Edit: the titles of the episodes are “Do Socialists Dream of Electric Institutions Part {1,2}”
It isn’t a 2025 episode, and even though it’s done by folks who do a podcast semi-regularly I’m not sure it qualifies as a episode but I really enjoy Proles of the Round Table’s reading of The Fever by Wallace Shawn. I listened to it twice last year at least, if that counts for anything which I doubt.
Otherwise, they’re all more or less just background noise. I’ll listen when I’m doing service work, or cleaning the house but I don’t wait around for new episodes of anything any more, and I actually cancelled the four podcasts I was paying for on Patreon back in November because I haven’t listened to any of them in months. Even some of the pirate feeds I’ve gotten here. I’ve been listening to music again instead.
Proles Pod Ep 66 - The Stalin Eras, Part 2: Stewards of the Human Soul (1930-1934)
Bigsofttitty.png bonus episode 250, specifically where they talk about #hedgehogboytime
I mostly gave up on podcasts in 2025 really. Did listen to some Qurators eps though, they’re alright.
I wonder, Is there an age group that listens to them more than another? I have a feeling it’s millennials, but I can’t say why I feel that way.
The humor is laser-targeted at millennials and the hosts are millennials
I just took a scroll through my phones podcast app and my anecdata would say you’re absolutely right.
