If you assume the other half of those 24,000 are still cheap bastards paying $2/month, that’s still $23,985/month or $287k/year - which means, if we’re being realistic - Natalie Wynn probably pulls close to a million dollars a year before taxes for…posting shit takes on twitter occasionally.

Klippenstein is a journalist not a substack author. I was talking more like Matt Taibbi, Matthew Yglesias, et al. Neither of whom are anywhere close to being ‘leftist’, mainly because they already had brainworms long before it was a thing, but the platform itself certainly doesn’t help. Case in point: the msot popular political/journalism substack is Bari Weiss’
