Even if he’s a performative lib with bad opinions at least he’s out there trying to resist ICE as best his lib brain will let him. It is more than most. Maybe he’ll be a distraction, maybe he’ll just annoy them. If he makes an ICE guy’s day just a little bit worse, he’s doing more than most people here.

I can only speak for me. I’m not a gun owner but if I lived in Minneapolis - I might have already become one. So imagine I live Minneapolis and I’m possibly a gun owner - there are already two big hypotheticals in this fictional story. But it’s safe to say if I was there - I’d avoid ICE like the plague. One, I’m not a badass but then again - I don’t pretend to be. Two, what would I do if they put their hands on me? Well…
I can’t finish #2 for obvious reasons. And I sincerely don’t know what I would do if I was suddenly in a situation where I couldn’t avoid it.

Libs there seem to actually not understand that he isn’t actually important to leftists. Why would he be? It’s not as if he has any political power, influence, or muscle. He’s just some lib on social media who posts 500 times a day. People like me make fun of him over there because he’s a highly amusing proxy for libs in general. His Bluesky fans are impassioned to the point it’s as if he’s a beloved sportsball hero.
Libs seem to actually get mad in a honest-to-god “HOW DARE YOU!” way if you make fun of him. It’s kind of bizarre. And he’s very clearly often full of shit some of the time!

He has ~83K followers. I think he’s popular at Bluesky because even if libs don’t like him or think that he’s silly - they think he’s fighting some kind of good fight against the right and the left. He says he gets death threats. And from the left too. I think it’s clear that he’s an active fantasist. He’s annoying and he punches left. That’s not unusual at all but he’s somehow made that a strong brand for himself. Don’t ask me how.

The fact that political groups redefine words however and whenever they like is funny but it does produce some very weird results. At Bluesky the term “progressive” is often hilarious. It could actually mean somebody to the right of Bernie. And it also goes all the way to somebody who is basically a republican but says they are now a democrat and they don’t have a single progressive viewpoint other than a tepid endorsement of public transit.
if Bluesky calls someone progressive there’s an even chance they’re a lincoln project lib. Their only criteria is “says trump bad”

If anybody is thinking of making an account - a great place to start is by blocking many of the top accounts. They can be super-tedious and they get reposted, quote-posted, etc. Blocks are nuclear. For example - if you block BrooklynDad_Defiant! - you’ll see never see any of his posts. It’s like he doesn’t exist there. It’s great.
