    There are always 3 common assumptions that people here in the U.S. make about biracial Black people, but none of them apply to me. They are:

    1. That we are “racially ambiguous.”
    2. That we are light-skinned.
    3. That we are mixed with white specifically.

    True for many mixed-race people? Sure, but in my case, no, no, and no.

    It makes the “biracial isn’t Black” discourse even more frustrating.
