There are always 3 common assumptions that people here in the U.S. make about biracial Black people, but none of them apply to me. They are:
- That we are “racially ambiguous.”
- That we are light-skinned.
- That we are mixed with white specifically.
True for many mixed-race people? Sure, but in my case, no, no, and no.

I can never give anything 100% of my faith, but I seriously hope I found my way out of this job hunt via this agency. It’s been so daunting.
I have still been applying to other jobs every day, and I even got a few interviews lined up for next week.
I hope the degree of confidence I feel right now is not misplaced. We’re still in early January, so hopefully things ramp up next week.

Been talking to an adopted Guatemalan diaspora and he’s terrified of ICE atm but his white ass parents aren’t doing anything to prep for them. He’ll tell them his concerns and they’ll assure him they only capture criminals and that he’s not an illegal so he’ll be fine. They aren’t taking it seriously at all.
Hot take but interracial adoption should not happen for most people doing it. They’re completely unprepared for discussions on race and how it effects their adopted children that they treat like exotic pets.
It’s not just adopted kids us mixed race kids are getting this shit from our blood relatives who are white, who also like to treat us like exotic pets. They seem to think ICE cares about where you were born or legal status. Now that they shot a white woman, they’re bending over backwards to try and give any explanation that isn’t racist country does racist things.

Should not be a hot take, anybody adopting a child of another race/ethnicity should be well known in their culture and issues they may face but people just see it “oh so you want them to stay orphans” or some shit even tho that’s a whole nother sentence.
