Today its his Birthday juche-WPK

The cause of Juche, pioneered and led by President Kim Il Sung and General Kim Jong Il, are being carried forward by Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

Kim Jong Un is possessed of unbounded loyalty to the revolutionary cause of Juche, outstanding leadership ability, matchless courage and pluck, and popular traits. Thanks to his ennobling loyalty and moral obligation, a new phase was opened up in implementing the cause of immortalizing the leader.

Accordingly, the beaming image of General Kim Jong Il has been implanted in the minds of the people and the sacred history of his revolutionary activities continues without let-up. Through his energetic ideological and theoretical activities, Kim Jong Un formulated the great leaders’ revolutionary ideology as Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, and he is leading the Korean people to march straight ahead along the road of independence, the road of Songun and the road of socialism.

A perfect statesman of the present era, he accompanied General Kim Jong Il on the road of the Songun-based leadership, working with devotion for the development of the Party, the country and the army. Upon being appointed as Supreme Commander of the Korean People’s Army, he has inspected one army unit after another, which is giving a powerful impetus to the enhancement of the country’s defence capability and the victorious advance of the cause of socialism.

In March 2013, when the situation on the Korean peninsula was growing acute owing to the uninterrupted war moves by the US, a plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea was held. At this meeting he advanced a new strategic line of simultaneously conducting economic construction and building up the nuclear forces.

In accordance with this line, he led the cause of building the country’s nuclear forces to victory, thus increasing the strength of socialist Korea to the highest level and developing the country into the Juche-oriented nuclear power.

By adhering to the principle of self-reliance and self-development the Korean people have built monumental edifices for their well-being and raised fierce flames of the industrial revolution in the new century, pushing back the frontiers of science and technology. They have achieved one eye-opening success after another in the fields of science, education, literature and the arts, and sports, bringing about an epochal turn in building a knowledge-based economy and a civilized socialist power.

Cherishing the life-long motto of the great leaders who believed in people as in heaven, Kim Jong Un administers politics of prioritizing the interests of the people and respecting and loving them in order to translate their beautiful dreams and ideals into reality. He shows paternal affection for and trust in the people to rally the service personnel and other people firmly around the Party.

The traditional single hearted unity of the country has been consolidated on the basis of his ennobling view of comrades and comrades-in-arms. All the people share the same destiny with their leader, advancing the revolution arm in arm and shoulder to shoulder with him. Thanks to his unshakeable determination to reunify the country, the national reunification movement is making rapid progress. He has thwarted the imperialists’ war moves and rendered an outstanding contribution to ensuring global peace and stability and promoting the cause of independence for mankind, thereby winning international recognition as the great guardian of justice.

In reflection of the people’s unanimous will and desire he was elected Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, and he was awarded the title of Marshal of the DPRK.

The fallout show has such a fucked up sense of scale, like, the NCR was apparently entirely in shady sands, i guess it was more like the shady sands republic huh. the entire legion civil war thing being like one camp, like, what, where’s the rest of them? then the Brotherhood goes in the other direction with each chapter casually having A FLYING AIRCRAFT CARRIER so like the brotherhood has like a dozen of those fuckers? they’d control the entire U.S. easy, wtf, probably extending control beyond the U.S. since its AN AIRCRAFT CARRIER THAT FLIES

I’ve never watched a second of the show and I probably never will, but from osmosis what I’ve gathered is that the people who own the Fallout IP deeply resent anyone who thinks that humans may be able to come together and achieve things after a disaster, and if anyone else writes a story where they do they want to keep dropping nukes until that story ceases to exist

Its also easier to direct action scene slop then have to write dialogue for characters. The show is meticulously going through all the “fallout” brand signifiers so that it can feel fallout but the story is basically just a carnival ride through sets.

The set design and production quality is alright slop though so I’m still eating this shit.

Cf. The Walking Dead and TLOU for starters, each to some extent.

We see famous media pessimistically portraying human prospects in disaster scenarios as far back as the mid 20-th century, where just 11 years after Lord of the Flies was published, a small group of boys ran away from a boarding school and lived on a deserted island without murdering or splitting from each other.

Yeah I’m hate-watching the show too.

The brotherhood thing is really silly. The only thing that helps, is that they showed one of those ships at the start of season 2 in the past. If the US military already had airships and the BoS just found them and refitted them that’s slightly more possible I guess. It would have to retcon Fallout 4 where they said they built the airship but honestly that was pretty silly too. I like that the BoS seems to suck and is full of chuds even more in this season though.

Re: the NCR this my headcanon that I'm sure they'll decide to obliterate at some point to spite me

I think the only way to fit all the games and the TV show into the same continuity is for the NCR to have renamed the LA Boneyard to Shady Sands between Fallout 2 and New Vegas.

The original NCR was Shady Sands, the Hub, the Boneyard, Dayglow and Maxson. We see that the NCR is expanding Northward by the time of Fallout 2, Vault 15, New Reno, Redding and Vault City all join in various endings. This probably brings along Klamath, Modoc, the Den, Gecko etc all the other smaller communities. Plus there’s the community that the Chosen One founded. As well as the Shi Empire in San Francisco that are probably autonomous.

By Fallout 2 no one is calling the city that used to be Shady Sands that anymore. President Tandi I think brings it up if you talk to her, they just call it the NCR. That city is on a similar latitude to San Francisco. It’s the furthest South in Fallout 2 and the most North in Fallout 1. It’s basically the border of the NCR and the new Frontier.

By New Vegas however they are talking about “Shady Sands” again. In the intervening time the NCR has secured the Hoover Dam which is sending power back to California. Most likely to the LA area. We also know the Shi have Biofuel, and there are functional ships in Fallout 2. So maybe they move from pragmatic reasons of having power and access to shipping on the coast, as well as political, moving institutional power back to the South where the original NCR bureaucracy was from and away from proximity to rival power centres in the Shi and Vault City (which had the Gecko Power Plant up and running).

They decide they can’t be living in “the Boneyard” though so they rename LA “Shady Sands” after the original Northern settlement, and also make it the first formal capital of the NCR, which explains the sign. Like cities change their name in history and sometimes they have the same name like Thebes. This is the Shady Sands that is referenced by Fallout New Vegas.

Then when the nuke goes off I can see the Hub dwindling because the old shady sands is diminished and far North, the New Shady Sands/old boneyard is gone, Maxson is gone from the NCR-BoS war and Dayglow probably wasn’t that big. So those who can up and retreat north. The rest collapses. The NCR at the Hoover Dam retreat because what is the point? If the power is going no where.

I imagine there is a rump NCR hanging on higher North, but the political elite of Vault City, New Reno and the Shi probably don’t or can’t care that much for things that are South outside of Moldaver’s little project.
