a lot of them just don’t follow down the chain of causality. they see “we will not let x country import food” and “people in x country are starving to death” as entirely unrelated events. to do otherwise would give them cognitive dissonance so they just ignore it.

what do they think that will achieve?

sad state of affairs when neoliberals are more reliable allies than communists
