  • I would say the same as tradesmen working noisy equipment. In the uk that is 8am-6pm weekdays. 8am-1pm on a weekend. This is your job so it would follow that it takes the same hours as that. However I would say that trombones are not quite the same as a disk cutter, so perhaps run the times an hour or so later, e.g. 9/10am - 7/8pm weekdays dependant on local conditions. Likewise for the weekend maybe flex your times respectfully about local religious customs where appropriate.

    Also most importantly, talk to your neighbours. They need to have quiet enjoyment of their residence and you need to practice. Find an equitable solution where possible showing compassion and understanding. E.G. if you have a nurse or factory worker who works nights, try to flex about their sleep schedule. They need to sleep right?

    To be honest, it’s also not unreasonable to hire or find practice space if you need to be regularly creating noise. Probably easier for you to concentrate in a dedicated space too.
