

Sure, it would be a question of prior context vs. engaging with a movement on its current terms I guess. It’s not diminishing the previous movement even, it’s just a question of how you evaluate the relevance of a past movement to a current struggle. Which is admittedly hard to do from a distance.




Hey I appreciate being engaged with sincerely! In my experience it’s always best to check because either you defuse a situation or the other person will very quickly make it clear that the heat is intended.
I agree with your conclusion too, especially since when you remove the bogeyman of US imperialism you are creating new conditions where it’s easier to engage with movements on their own terms, one less factor to muddy the waters.
That said I’m really worried that the US is repositioning assets because it believes it can change the regime by force. After Venezuela I think they’re ready to make big swings, it at least that’s how it feels. So yeah, pretty bleak for our Iranian comrades at the moment. I hope I’m wrong.
