    Sincere question: Who gives a fuck?

    The specific data that would be affected by this is tangential to our analysis, it only guides liberals in their quest to find the perfect set of policies. Of the hegemon confuses and misleads its own custodians, what’s that to us? In the same vein, the reliability of government data has only very indirect effect on the people’s welfare. The article also says this could hinder AI. It’s a win-win-win.

      I think there are going to be real tangible effects resulting from breakdown of statistics collections. Not that the US does much planning, but at this point it’s going to be all but impossible.
