At this point I’m tempted to just blanket go “I like what I like, and if it was made by/with a problematic person so be it”. I know “problematic faves” is already a thing, but I’m just…tired. Tired of all the “X situation is crazy”, “Y person said/did a problematic thing so disregard everything else they’ve ever said and done” etc. bullshit. It’s like the 24 hour news cycle but for drama, it’s exhausting.

I am genuinely scared to ever learn anything about musicians or artists I like out of the fear they’ve done something heinous or become malding reactionaries since doing whatever good thing I liked. I’m afraid to mention musicians and artists that I’m not 100% sure about out of the fear someone will go “oh [whoever]? didn’t you hear they [got caught on mic screaming slurs/did the streamer crime/are a genocidal maniac/became open fash]?”
I know the feeling; I used to enjoy these darkly satirical tweets from some guy called Netanyahu, but then like I find out he’s some kind of minister of Israel? Like what the heck!
