I disagree that open faced sandwiches are even sandwiches you need two slices of bread or bread like thing minimum

that’s not part of the cube rule of food’s definition of toast, oddly enough.
Potatoes have starch, surely by that definition there are two starch layers, making it a sandwich
I don’t think that counts, they’re more of an ingredient than a structural starch in this case
