I can’t be mad at people doing crypto scams. The environmental impact pisses me off, but not the scam. At this point it has to be expected and everyone just believes they’ll get in on the Pump side of the Pump n’ Dump
The environmental impact of proof-of-work is usually tied to the amount of transactions on the chain and the amount of computers crunching the numbers.
Bitcoin, for instance, makes the number crunching harder the more computers there are.
I don’t imagine these scams are doing much to the environment, since very few people will be mining the coin.
Some other Crypos use proof-of-stake, which changes things up a bit.
