On January 7th, 37-year-old Renee Good was murdered by an ICE agent in Minneapolis. While a considerable amount of the discussion online has been about the direction her wheels were turning and things like that, truthfully, I think it’s just fundamentally bad to shoot a person to death with a gun if you happen to be a state mercenary enforcing an incredibly racist federal policy, regardless of the circumstances.
The murder has since prompted a wave of vigils and protests, not only in Minneapolis, but also in virtually every major city in the country. The demands are justice for Good in particular, and the abolition of ICE in general, to avenge its many victims. The Trump administration has done all they can to inflame the situation, designating Good a “domestic terrorist” and saying that the agent who shot her will be immune from prosecution.
Protests and resistance to this administration’s policies have, encouragingly, had an element of international solidarity - not only are flags from countries throughout Latin America (and also Palestine) present, but speakers in protests have even been actively condemning the recent imperialist actions against Venezuela. For it is, of course, one joint struggle. The imperial boomerang always returns - and in the modern day, it returns rapidly.

He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it’s just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.
Simplicius, who publishes on Substack. Like others, his political analysis should be soundly ignored, but his knowledge of weaponry and military strategy is generally quite good.

He pretends to hate NATO so that all the anti-Drumpf Libs reflexively defend and love NATO. It’s reverse psychology and a deliberate strategy to make normally anti-interventionist milquetoast libs into frothing warmongers.
What has he actually done “against” NATO despite all the rhetoric and discourse? Increased their funding by extorting more funds from Europe. Convinced Europe to expand their militaries. That’s it.
This is a fair assessment. I kind of feel like he hates spending money on literally anything though, even if it’s good for US imperialism, eg USAID. NATO has always been a protection racket in any case, it’s just becoming more overt

But really, the Republican’s imperialist plan in the short term is to give up on soft power over the whole Earth and focus on hard power over their immediate vicinity

Trump probably does hate NATO because usa gets a bad deal, he’s all about the deal at face value
but that doesn’y mean the people who write his speaches and executive orders have any pro deal assesment
The “good deal” for Trump is to get Europe to pay into NATO more to increase the armies that the vassals supply to the hegemon, them. He’s just dragging up the slider to increase NATO’s military capabilities and imperialist force. He’s Genghis Khan demanding a higher amount of auxillaries from one of his conquered regions. Wow, this guy really “hates” NATO!
